so I spent a few days in st. george this summer back home. my mom has a bunch of my paintings and drawings from highschool throughout the house and I thought that it would be cool to post a few of them up on my blog. a few of these won some awards. the normon rockwell "interpretations" were some of my earliest water color attempts and the oil painting was my first experience with oil. to this day it remains my favorite oil painting.

I spent all of Saturday night and Sunday and Monday... revamping the house construction animation. I think I started to hit my stride with the vinyl siding panels going up. Yes, I did animated and keyframe by hand every individual roof tile.

Kind of a jerky camera but oh well I sort of like it. I had higher res models to put in but it was too much for my computer to handle (me means for dealing with that issue didin't quite work- level of detail has some bugs).

Troll Sub Surface Scattering

I know I have only been posting paintings lately but I am still quite passionate about the 3D end of things. This is the kind of shader the troll needed for the University animation but don't get me started on that. I am in the process of making an industry standard rig for the guy and I'd like to use the blend shapes I made for him and make a few seconds of animation with him speaking. I'm thinking some sort of Actor's Corner type interview.

All of these drawings were done with a live model. These were attempts at understanding the underlying stucture and topology of the figure. The image second from top is actually just a 25 min drawing from a Saturday morning figure drawing sesssion at the U.

This is a sketch of a character from a comic that my friend is writing. He is an African American professor trying to solve an ancient mystery... really, its completely cool and original. The other characters that happened to make it on are just some random sketches. Looks like there's an orc thing, a robot, and a character I've created named Isaac Grandeur.
